I am trying to sell a Ruger Pistol for my grandfather, i thought they were all MKI, MKII, or MKIII but this one doesnt have anything of that sort on it.

The pistol is all black, a 4 inch barrel (could be 3.5 inch, my grandfather told me over the phone and did not measure it) and the serial number is 12-49197.

Is this enough to help identify it?

Did the first Ruger autoloading .22s not have a MKI written on them?

Thanks a lot.

On the left side of the gun it says RUGER (in large lettering) .22 cal Long Rifle(line break) Automatic Pistol. Nothing after that.

The sights are fixed and the grips are black with the ruger eagle thing and SR on it.

Trigger, bolt and bottom of magazine are silver.

Thanks!

Do you know if all the MKI models were clearly marked "Mark I" on the left side?

Just a guess really, but the first models I think were not marked, MK-I. I think they were just refered to as standard models. Only after some improvements were made the newer models became MK-II's.

It was made in 1974 and is worth from $150 and up. Hope this helps.
