I am thinking about replacing my plastic guide rod with a steel replacement. I have only been able to find one guy who has them but he will only do pay pal and I refuse to use pay pal.

Anyone know of others who sell replacement steel guide rods? I am also looking to replace the recoil spring. I see midway usa has some....any other suggestions on where to get them?

Thanks for the help.

I kind of feel silly. After searching around the world wide web I finally decided to contact CZ. They have both the steel replacement guide rod and recoil spring. 32 bucks delivered by end of the week. Sometimes my attenion defficit kicks in my favor sometimes it makes me look silly. But at least my torrets is under control.

Skers, I was tempted to replace the plastic guide rod with a steel one in my P01. After researching it a bit, I found some owners complained the steel ones caused issues. My gun is ~100% reliable, so plastic it is.

Been there, done that, sold them. Found no real improvement. Cosmetic, mostly, but there is no arguing they will last longer than the plastic.

I replaced the plastic for steel in my compact. The spring was binding on the new rod and I had to use some steel wool to knock down the finish/coating on it. Worked great after that and still going strong.

Chris. I have heard that the steel guide rods add a little weight to the front of the gun helping with follow up shots. Nothing is wrong with my factory plastic rod...just something I want to try. If it does not work I can always go back to the plastic.
