I just cast up a bunch of Lee C453-300-RF. The have been pre-lubed with Lee Alox and put through the Lee .452 sizer with gas checks. I will post lube the grooves with a melted solid lube using the old cookie cutter method.

I used wheel weights with about 5% Lino added and dropped directly in water. Brinnel is 25 and average weight with gas check is 325 grains.

I am planning on hunting elk with these boolits next fall using my old model Vaquero. I will not be shooting at my beast past 35-40 yards (my eyes just ain't what they use to be).

In my powder inventory I have Titegroup, Unique, 2400, Red Dot and Green Dot. Any suggested loads to obtain around 900-950 muzzle velocity?

I think you would have better luck doing the hard lube in the pan first, and then the Liquid Alox.

It seems to me the Alox would tend to keep the melted hard lube from sticking to the grease grooves.

As for the powders you listed, only Unique and 2400 would be at all suitable. The others are too fast.

You might try 9.0 grains Unique.
Or 17.5 grains 2400.

But that is just a WAG guess!
THIS IS NOT NOT PUBLISHED DATA!

You need to find load data for that heavy a bullet in the large frame Ruger, and I can't lay my hands on any just right now.

RC, Thank you.

I pre-lubed with LLA for the resizing. I tried the Lyman Orange with fair results.

I am going to start with 15 grains of 2400 and work my way up.
