Just resently purchased the mossberg 30-06 ATR 100 rifle, and i had an old 30-06 shell(alredy been shot) i wanted to mess around with in the gun, so i put it in, and about half way into pushing the bolt in and down it stopped so i poped it back up and a tiny piece broke off the bolt, the reloaded shell is stuck in the barrel and i heard getting it out with a wooden dowl works good, but how much will a new bolt cost?

    thanks

Its a NIB gun? It sounds like manufacturer error, not user error.

Look at the barrel, make sure it is indeed .30-06. Double check the bullet, too.

Sounds like the ejector to me. I wouldn't buy a new bolt, I would get the thing repaired under warranty. You may be able to return just the bolt, which would be much cheaper shipping-wise. In any case, the problem isn't yours, regardless of using a spent case.

Sounds like an extractor to me. But either way, do what Ash said.

Yeah, could be the claw broken off on the extractor, but what about the ball?

yeahjust got the bullet out of the berraol and it had markings all over the back of the bolt where it looked like it was trying to grab ahold of it. The little ball (looked like its out of a ball bearing) was filled with oil.
