Since I am currently unable to buy long rifle ammo I want to download my Hornet to rimfire velocity so that I do not punch holes in my rimfire steel plates. I have been unable to get info from the Sierra technical site or elsewhere. Has anyone here any info on doing this? It sure would be appreciated.:)

the lyman 49th edition has a bunch of low velocity loads for both jacketed and cast bullets.

Look at some of the Lyman books. Either their cast bullet handbook or Lyman #49.

It should not be too difficult to slow down the Hornet, but typical Hornet powders like W296 would not be suitable for reduced loads.
