I decided that friday was a good day to go to the range and plink away for a few hours.
I started off shooting my .22s, the savage which I managed to sight into nickle sized groups at 50 yards. (scope, of course. I'm not that good) Then with my old model 87a, I managed to get away with one or two doubletaps. Then I pulled out the mauser to just get it sighted in with the new bushnell 4-12x40. Shot about 30 rounds with that, learned that I really enjoy the report of that rifle. it's very short, loud, and concussive. always gets attention.

Then it was time to embarrass myself with my cz52.

There was a guy a couple of spots down from me, and his brother, I assume, they looked alike. He had a couple nice pistols, berrettas, that he was shooting around with. Literally.

I was in the middle of smattering rounds all over my target in hopes of hitting center, which I did a couple times, haha. This guy turns to me and says, "Hey, man, where do you aim when you shoot this far?" (25 yds)
me- "I don't really know, my pistol's sights might be a little crooked. I kind of shoot all over."
him- "Well, let's go cold so I can look at my target."
me- "sure thing"
On examination of his shoot n see target stuck to a square yard of cardboard, not a hole in the lot. It caught me by surprise, but I managed to not pull a "wow man, that sucks."
So it went like this-
me- "I'll watch you shoot and see where the rounds land"
him- "Sure, thanks man."
When I noticed the bullets were more or less everywhere but the target, I pointed that out, and he handed me the pistol with two rounds left, asking me to try it out, and see if there may be something wrong.
Bang Bang
Bullseye and a 10 ring split. That even surprised me.

me- "hmmm, doesn't seem to be the pistol's fault." "show my how you grip it when you shoot."

Viola! He was majorly tea-cupping the grip! (secondary hand underneath) I corrected his grip, and he immediately started hitting the black!

Amazing how those little things work.

I went back to shooting my cz52 all the damn where except the bullseye. had a nice group right under it though.
