Hercules 1928 4-10 - looking for info on this hand gun

I have been trying to find info on this gun and approx. worth. It has been in family for many years. It has engraved "Hercules 1928" , Montgomery and the number "21" and 4 10. Apparently it uses 410 shells, and mfg I Johnson, sold by and mfg for Montgomery Wards. That is all I know. Was it mfg in 1928? Is it legal with 12" barrel? Is it worth anything? Any info would be appreciated.

I find no mention of a Montgomery Ward Hercules shot pistol, I think it is a sawn off shotgun. Either way, it is not legal to possess unless registered under the NFA.

The lack of a sight bead and no other similarly configured guns does seem to point towards it being an NFA item. I suggest disassembling the gun and losing the barrel.
