First I'll admit I've always been a bit of a snob, and never considered owning a hi point. However, I recently traded into a 995 TS to eliminate a stockpile of 9x19 ammo I inherited. I just have to say the thing is ugly as Hell, but so far pretty darn reliable, and having ordered spare magazines from the factory, their customer service is unrivaled! I called to order four spare mags, and they overnighted them to me... I have to say, I'm pretty darn happy with the ugly little thing!

Sorry I had to use the cell phone... The Nikon is charging...

You have the new model 9mm carbine(tactical stock). If you want a plain ugly rifle the first generation Hi-Point carbines fits the description, since I own one. The second generation carbines have a piston asssisted recoil pad. My older model has a surprising recoil for a 9mm round. Still the rifle is a decent rifle and as you stated the warranty can't be beat along with customer service. I want to see if Hi-Point comes out with the .45 caliber carbine next month as advertised.

You're kidding right? If the price is in line with the 995, I'd snap up a .45 carbine in a heartbeat!

How you people can call the 995/995TS ugly and glorify the Kel-Tec Sub2k is beyond me. The Hi Points might as well be a Da Vinci sculpture compared the the Kel-Tec. Maybe my eyes are just weird.

They have been hanging the 45ACP carrot over our heads for how many years now?? I will believe it when I am handling one in a gun store.
