I wanted to. Do you want me to run all my ideas for discussions by you before I post them going forward? Why bring it up . It's nunya.
Older Hi Point 380s & 9mms are very slightly different than newer ones. The newer configuration has a spring inside of a spring for the striker spring. The old configuration did not. I liked the old configuration better. In the newer gun, the two springs would get “tangled” up with each other during both compression and in decompression. Racking the gun was much less smooth and it was more prone to jams. I converted the new gun to the old configuration and the operation drastically improved.
I still have the "improved" newer gun. It is now very reliable (a stove pipe every once in a blue moon) and it shoots better than most of the bottom feeders that I shoot. For my needs, the extra weight and reduced capacity are not problems.
Making fun of what people buy is crude. At least they exercised their rights and enjoy our sport. Wasn't funny at all comparing Taurus to high point.I wanted to. Do you want me to run all my ideas for discussions by you before I post them going forward?
I can almost guarantee you that the Hipoint will grow old in the sock drawer. They will enjoy the purchase.
The inner spring is full length. The outer spring is wound the opposite direction and is only partial length. The inner spring tends to buckle as it is compressed and this is what causes the interaction.A coil spring inside another coil spring should have each spring coiled the opposite direction from the other to prevent that issue. I have pistols with dual recoil springs set up exactly that way from the factory.
"Depends exactly which Taurus" Anything current, probably OK.This afternoon my wife told me that my grandson bought my daughter a handgun for Christmas.
ETA The gun has already been purchased. I will not be suggesting any gun to DD
She also told me that I need to keep my mouth shut and stay out of it.
I know the sale was legal because my daughter decided as long as she was filling out a 4473 she might as well get herself a .22 Rifle to murder rabbits on the Goat Ranch. Apparently, the rabbits are eating the chicken feed.
As I said DW told me I am to offer no opinions Period. So I asked her "Oh my God what did she do get a Taurus?"
DW said "Worse, it was a High Point."
To which I replied "High Points aren't worse. They're ugly as hell but they will shoot every time you pull the trigger."
Regardless of my opinion this was a gift from a son to his mother. I'm not getting in that. I don't care if he bought her a Jimenez. Actually I think I might say something if it was a Jimenez.
So that's the poll which would you pick Taurus or High Point? Both 9 mm
ETA DD works in a school that has campuses in 4 states. Her job involves lots of flying so I'm fairly certain she's not going to bother to get her permit. The gun will be strictly for home defense at the Goat Ranch
Make sure to show your DW the polling results, and that THR agrees with her. Your DW apparently has better taste in guns than you do, and you have better taste in picking a significant other. As I said DW told me I am to offer no opinions Period. So I asked her "Oh my God what did she do get a Taurus?"
DW said "Worse, it was a High Point."
To which I replied "High Points aren't worse. They're ugly as hell but they will shoot every time you pull the trigger."
My G3C and GX4 have been flawless. 2-3K through each. My son's GX4 has more rounds through it than mine and has the same experience. Probably the only 3 good ones Taurus has made!
It's called "sarcasm" my friend. You are now inkerrect, sir! My Gx4 had been flawless, as is my TX-22C, as was my G2c.
