I have a STG-2000C and I'm getting ready for my next rifle purchase. I want something in 7.62 (cheep ammo, easily available, hard hitting round) I looked @ the 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Gre. but came back to 7.62X39 for my standard fighting rifle round.

I'm looking for something that is going to be higher quality than the STG-2000C. Something that I would be able to possibly get into 3 gun and bring to a few rifle/car classes.

So far my options are

Robsion Arms XCR
A 7.62X39 AR
A Saiga Conversion (tromex probably)

Any input you guys have would be appericated.

7.62x39 AR? who makes those?

Off the top of my head, Colt made a 7.62x39 AR-15, Olympic makes an upper so chambered and a local company, SOG Armory has 7.62x39 uppers as well, although I don't know who makes them. I believe magazines are a bit of a problem with that configuration.

If you are to go off those general platforms but would like something really high end but somewhat less common....the Daewoo DR-300 which is piston driven rather than gas impingement of the AR's. Some parts like the TCG are interchangeable but most parts are not. BTW, it uses the the same mags as the AR's in 7.62x39 and is easily as accurate as standard AR's if not a tad bit more so. I have had the DR-200 which is is 5.56 and uses standard AR mags and drums. I personally love mine over AR's...JMHO.
