Saw a couple of these, both older models from CT. , priced from 315 for the
slim bbl and a heavier version for 375. are these pistols worth at these $?
Spare parts avail? mags? I shot one and aside from the grips, excellent plinkers.

High Standard made everything from everyday plinkers to full blown Bullseye pistols. The model needs to be known for an accurate recomendation on the price. There are quite a few places to get spare parts for them.

Yes, the new "High Standard" based in Texas has nothing to do with the old quality guns made by High Standard in CT. They basically just bought the name when High Standard went under and are putting out and importing sub-par guns using High Standard's good name.

Hi-Standard

I've got an HD-Military model, made the same year I was, 1947. It is a nice piece of equipment. Difficult to find extra magazines though.

There is some discussion on Rimfire Central, apparently somebody is making High Standard magazines to the original specifications. Seems all that had been done for the past good number of years were off in a critical dimension.
