High Standard finish

I have an old High Standard Double Nine revolver that belonged to my Dad - photo in this tread http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27451
How are these finished? Is it parkerized?
It shows a lot of holster wear and I'm considering having it redone. I'm really not concerned about a new finish affecting the value, it's a sentimental piece that I don't plan to get rid of and from what I've been able to find out it's not all that valuable anyway.

The Double Nine's were blued steel, with anodized aluminum parts.

A re-blue for the steel won't be too hard to find, but trying to find someone to re-do anodizing is tough.

You could re-anodize it yourself

I guess the procedure is not for the faint of heart...it might be nastier and more toxic than bluing, I don't really know.
