My father recently deemed his son (me) suitable for ownership of his HK P7K3 :D

However, his P7 is currently chambered in .380ACP, and it would be much more convenient and cost effective if it was instead chambered for 9mm. I have heard that switching calibers is actually as simple as swapping out the barrel and magazine, but I have no experience with doing this in any firearm, let alone the P7.

Unfortunately, HK is taking quite some time to get back to me on this one (please, no HK customer service flame wars). Does anybody know if and how this can be done?

Thanks

It can't be converted to 9mm...they are completely different guns

As stated on the linked site, the .380 has a removable barrel for conversion to .32ACP and .22lr. It is a blowback pistol with a hydraulic pistol in place of the larger caliber's gas chamber.

Please don't mess with the K3, it already has collector status. A complete set...the gun with all three barrel and magazines, plus the .22lr slide...is a very pricey item
