What is a good holster set up for the USPs. I would like one for carry that hides it pretty well even in the summer months. If you have a HK USP and have pics of yours holstered please show. Also reviews on the holsters and good places to buy them. Price is not too big of a deal, but I would rather not spend as much on the holster as the gun. lol Whats a good one for the range? I would like to stay with leather but any ideas right now would be great. Thanks

I prefer the stuff from Mitch Rosen. You didn't skimp on the gun, why skimp on the holster & belt?
 
Consider the Watch Six by Milt Sparks. It is a very slim design, partially due to the absence of a metal band around the holster mouth. However, reholstering has not been a problem for me.
 
I'm on my 4th or 5th FIST holster. A few for my USP's, and one for my P7. Top quality leather work at a fraction of the cost of Delfatti or Rosen. Usually shows up on my door in about 3-4 weeks vs. Delfatti 12 month waiting list. Another plus, you can get all the bells and wistles for 1/2 the cost of the other guys. My last holster was a #1A IWB forward cant with a clip. I added front reinforcement strap, rounded front, severe forward cant, and his Hybrid option (kydex inside, leather outside), all for less than $110, delivered. A similar holster from Delfatti would have cost north of $300 dollars and I'd still be waiting on it. Check out the the FIST Hybrid. Really AWESOME IMO...It reduces finish wear, debris pickup, it's faster on the draw, and virtually silent.

What style would be the best? SOB? and how much at an angle do i want it? Does the IWB feel alright for most? How about pics of the gun holstered. Since we are on the HK what are some "must haves" for it? I am maninly looking for a carry. I am not so great at navigating thru those holster web sites.
 
SOB is bad! first and foremost it's dangerous. placing anything thing hard of any nature on your spine gives too much potential for serious and possibly permanant injury if you imapct (fall). Ever notice linemen, cops, etc don't carry there? That's for good reason.
Holsters are very much an individual choice. What firts one isn't neccessarily gona fit another. Some of my guns feel better IWB, other OWB. Clothing also plays a parts as does the body of the person. (big, small, thin, not-so-thin) I've found the basic IWB is a very comon (i.e. favored) style. All depends on the afore mentioned conditions though.
I have carried at times a full size USP and use a OWB holster (Mitch Rosen 5JR). With heavier clothing this works for summer wear it wouldn't nearly as well. For those times a Rosen "Workman" is used to carry a SP101. I'll be ordering a new Rosen holster for my P2000sk and it will likely be an IWB.
You HK shouldn't need anything. It you can shoot it acceptably as it is, why chage a good thing?
 
Got it..no SOB

I am average body frame. I am 5'11 and 32in waist. Is the IWB the best? I know comfort wise it is to each its own, but I adapt very quickly to pretty much anything. I am not the expert thats why I am asking. If you could recomend one holster, what would it be? Thanks BLkHwk for set me straight and for your input. Oh and to let it be known, I dont have the USP, yet. I was told to find the holster first, then get the gun. This will be my first handgun, so I want to enjoy it! Thanks much.
 
I like www.kramergunleather.com personally. The IWB #3 seems to be a good deal. I would get it in Horsehide since you live in a more humid area.

I would also recommend getting the gun before you get the leather. Have you considered plastic holsters?

www.comp-tac.com makes some pretty nice stuff. The C-TAC is a very popular holster as well.

And have you considered the P2000? Its a little nicer for carry then the USPc is what a lot of people tell me. I have one but cant carry since I live in a horrible state.

I have not really considered it. I was just so mezmorized by the compact that I all i saw was compact. I dont know about the p2000 But i was going for something w a 4in barrel and something I could use for more then carry. I am in the USAF right now and when I get out there is a higher chance I will apply at the Scott Co Sheriffs Dept back in MN. So I was thinking the USP would make a great duty too. Maybe I am wrong. I am interested in plastics as long as I get one to fit. I really don't know which one to get. I am in an area that does not have but one local sporting goods store and they have pretty much nothing for handguns. I can only really take your advice to find the right holster, company, etc. Thanks for the input so far.

Either would make a great chocie. Regarding using your chocie as a duty gun, most depts have guideines and such regarding duty weapons. It's always nice in that just-in-case scenario to have interchangeable magazines between officers. With everyone having differnt makes/models... Some depts will issue what they want while others will allow pre-determined models for the officer. Each dept is different though. However, don't be discouraged about not being able to use what you decide on as a duty gun.
Compare the features of the USPc and the P2000 and see what suits your needs best. Also be aware that a new model, the P30 is expected in '07. justanother choice thrown into the mix.
maybe a day trip to just hit shop after shop to see what is out there in in order. Check any local shooting/rod & gun clubs and see what folks there are shooting or if anyone would have either of the Hk's you are interested in.
