what exactly are these? when you look thru an EOTech holographic sight, what are you seeing?

ok, thanks. I was looking around for "thru the sight" pics while I was at work earlier today... but couldn't find one. Was supposed to be working anyway... :)

why's it called "holographic"? In the movies holograms are like 3-D projections...

are EOTechs showing a magnified glass image like regular glass scopes? It's hard to tell on that ar15.com thread... and there's not many EOTech shots anyway.

EOTechs do not offer any magnification.

The hologram technology allows you to view the reticle at any place in the glass, even if it's obscured, covered, or broken. Thus, if the right half of the optics are shattered, the left half will still have a complete, intact reticle.

See http://www.eotech-inc.com/index2.php for more information.

Interestingly enough, EOTech just got bought by L3 Communications. I can't think of a more unlikely pair.

ok I get it now. I tried out the "simulator" that's on that site.

I may have posted the wrong thread...There is thread with those kind of *pics* for all of them...(Aimpoint, Eotech, Leopold., ect) on www.ar15.com
