for those of you that have a 3" taper bbl C.A. bulldog .44spl, what holsters do you use, IWB and/or OWB?

thanks.

I use a Gould & Goodrich B61 which is like a Don Hume JIT Slide.

It's a small OWB holster that does good job carrying a light revolver like the Bulldog. Either the G&G or the Don Hume that fit a Detective Special will work, and both are only about 25 bucks on eBay and Amazon.

The downside is that these small belt slide holsters are open muzzle, so you have to be more careful with the gun so you don't bang up the muzzle on things you might bump against.

the open muzzle getting banged up isn't my worry, its the muzzle being pushed up and unseating the gun.....

I have a S&W 696 which has a 3" barrel. I carry it in an El Paso Saddlery #88 Street Combat Holster, which is open muzzle.

I have been carrying this gun in this holster for years in all conditions, including in an out of my car and hunting, and have never had a problem with the muzzle being pushed so the gun rises in the holster. The holster holds the gun high and tight and there have been absolutely no issues. This is an L Frame, heavier than your Bulldog, and it is comfortable to carry all day in this holster.

El Paso Saddlery makes GREAT holsters, they are very well made and do the job.

Let us know what you end up with...

Paladin7, that is an open muzzle rig, but I was referring to the yaqui types where the barrel is almost completely exposed. thanks for the link also.

I ordered a DeSantis Thumb Break Scabbard for my Pitbull. It is 2.2 inches and I don't see any current Bulldog model described as longer than 2.5". The description says it fits the Bulldog. The item number is 001TE22Z0 at opticsplanet.com.
