I am needing a holster for my .22LR/.22WMR Heritage 6.5" barrel so that I can take it with me while pulling trotlines. It is mid-May, and that Cotton Mouths are vicious right now. One on every limb, I swear.

I am wanting to take some super colibris with me to take care of the ones that get a little brave, and most cotton mouths do not back down.

The Uncle Mikes nylon came to mind for $15.00. I am planning on getting a nice western setup, but for the boat I don't think the leather is a good idea.

You guys got some recommendations? I wish it had a ring on the bottom. I would prolly just tie it with some hemp or something then keep it tucked into my shorts.

I picked one up at Academy Sports for $10 and its just a cheap camo nylon holster and they even come in left hand. Can't remember the brand but it's their bargain holsters. All are for the 6.5" barrel and the label specifically says for Heritage. I found it easy to wear in the cross draw while paddling in the canoe. Yep, cottons are getting busy here too. Must be mating season. X

xstuntman, good call, and thanks for the tip. I will make a stop by there after work. It is only 2 miles from my home.

It is matting season..

Thanks again for the tip.

You may not need or want a leather holster but the Heritage web site has a line of accessories. I am please w/the items I have gotten from them. Better quality than I had thought. I don't recall if they had nylon. Just a thought.

ReadyRob, thanks for the tips. I have looked, and I mentioned that I do want a nice western holster for my pistol, but not for when I am on the river in my boat pulling jugs and lines.

I have bought from levergunleather.com before. They have outfitted my Marlins. I will probably give them a look as I mentioned as well for my western look. This way it will match my existing leather.

I did go and get the holster from Academy. It works great for what I am needing it to do for me. Your right, xstuntman, it does do nicely for a cross draw. I like how the snap is on velcro that will allow you to use either right or left hand draw.

I removed half the strap with button so now its just velcro strapped and it seems to work better. It doesn't hook the extra velcro (which for some reason was way too long) on every stinking thing it comes in contact with. Your mileage might very from mine though. X

i like the holster i got for $9 from Academy just fine.
if i had not found this i would call Heritage.
