my wife just bought me a single six for a college graduation gift (killer gift). any suggestions as to a holster? any input is appreciated. thanks.

I have a covered flap holster for mine. Believe I got it from El Paso Saddlery.
Carry mine mostly when in the field and or working so need it protected.

Go to midway usa and look through the holster section. That revolver will make a great plinker for a day in the woods. You can get a shoulder holster or a western sytle rig or just a simple nylon type that will slip on your belt at most gunshops for under 15 bucks from Hunter.

That would depend.

Do you want something "cowboy style"?

With a cartridge belt to match?

Protected by a flap, like scotjute's?

Or just a simple, practical modern holster?

For the latter, I have one of these for my SBH and it fits the gun snugly, holds it close to my body where it doesn't get in the way of my arms and even allows strongside draw of a 10 1/2" barrel: http://shopruger.com/webapp/wcs/sto...d=-1&parent_category_rn=13682&lastCatId=13682
