I am looking for a nice holster for the 3.75" Ruger Vaquero. I am wanting something for open carry while in the field. Also like something a little "cowboyish". Anyone know a good place online to look for one that will not be over $150 ?

Do you mean a 3.75" "sheriff's model" Vaquero? If so, I'm thinking something along the lines of a Tom Threepersons from El Paso Saddlery might be to your liking. It was designed by Sam Myers (saddler/holstermaker) and Tom Threepersons (El Paso police officer). I've read of this holster being used by modern rancher/cowboy types packing single-action sixguns in trucks, ahorseback, and on foot.

For this holster, go to this link:

They're quoting $62 +shipping.
lining standard
exposed trigger guard (certain semi-automatics will have covered trigger, ie. Glocks and Sigs)
-forward cant standard (neutral cant $10 more)
-2 1/4" belt loop standard (smaller on request)
-specify hammer thong or button strap
-Available for most Single Actions, Double Actions and Semi-Automatics.
2" to 7 1/2" Barrels

Editted to add: Another thing about the Tom Threepersons style is that while it has a certain amount of western flair, it also is made to ride at the cant now known as the FBI tilt. Tom Threepersons was wanting that angle after seeing Ranger Capt. Frank Hamer's rig also made by Sam Myers, but with a lot less leather as he didn't need a cartridge belt.

Look up Red Dog Leather (Paul Combast) on Ebay.

He made a really nice cross draw holster for my 3.75" Vaquero, as well as a pair of strong side holsters for my Taurus Gauchos. Quick turn around, good quality, and very reasonable pricing. He can do lined, unlined, basket stamping, etc. as well as make to your specifications (I wanted the Gaucho holsters to have a negative cant).

It'll work in the same holsters because the only thing different is the shape of the grip.

If the gun's stainless, whether the holster's lined or not won't matter from what I understand, but if it's charcoal blued, an unlined holster will wear the finish off. When I build my holsters, I always line them with pigsuede because I read some articles in the Leathercrafters&Saddlers Journal where they told that pigsued won't rub the blue off.

I looked everywhere in town today and searched the internet and still no luck. The only ones I found for the 3.75" Vaquero where custom ones that ran $250+ :(

Did you check further into the Tom Threepersons I linked to? It's custom to a point, but it lists for $62 +shipping and they'll make it to fit a 3.75" Vaquero if you order it as for such. If I needed a holster at the moment, I'd pick that one. I'd recommend giving El Paso Saddlery a chance on name recognition and a reputation that goes way back.
