holster snaps

new custom osw holster that is snap on & off. snaps are pain in the butt to get together. do snaps break in like holster does or what????
any suggestions on how to get them to work easyer?

In my experience they do break in to some extent. Maybe your belt is too wide or thick for the holster?

put the snap together...put in between some blocks of wood...give it a good wack...add a drop of rem oil...gary

Hold on!

Are these "pull-the-dot" or "one-way" snaps? (Or similar?) A lot of snaps on high-quality holsters are designed to only work one way. They have an extra tab in the inner lip of the "female" part that locks into the male part so they can't be knocked loose by brushing against something.

If you see markings on top of the snap or look under the lip of the female part and it isn't perfectly symmetrical all the way 'round, then you need to hook the tab side in first and press the opposite side of the snap to get them to lock together.

If they are, smashing them together between wood blocks is going to destroy them.
