I'm trying to pick out a hunting holster for my 6.5" Blackhawk w/out a scope. Does anybody have any recommendations for one?

    Depends on what you want.

My preferance for SAA's and especially ones with long barrels is a Tom Threepersons from El Paso Saddelry.
It keeps the gun up high and close to the body.
Not cheap, but you won't find a better quality one.

They also have full flap holsters if you want more coverage & more flopping around.

I just did a Google search for 'handgun grips' and found a bunch of different makes, most with pics.

In addition to the stock walnut grip, I have a set of CocoBolo wood and a set of white micarta (looks like ivory) for my Blackhawk in .30Carbine. Depends on my mood...

I'm the same way with my M1A - one walnut stockset, one USGI plain brown fiberglass, one USGI fiberglass custom-painted 'Tigerstripe' camo, and one Boyd's black laminate decked out 'tactical style'... I am thinking about getting another USGI f/g stock to paint in Desert camo... Just one gun, but it can switch personalities quicker than a schizophrenic!

Geeze, while I was researching and typing my response to your "Ruger grip pics wanted" post, you edited the whole thing to be about holsters, and then it gets moved... I guess I gotta type faster!

Yeah my bad sorry. I originally searched "Blackhawk Grip" and couldn't get many pics. So I started a thread on grip pics. Then I went to google and searched "Blackhawk Grips" and one of the things that came up was a THR thread just like that one I started. Its amazing what a difference the letter "S" makes in a THR search.

Ahhhhh.... I thought all the tough decisions stopped when you had the gun home from the store! I like some characteristics of all mentioned so far. Thanks
