Here's an interesting article on an attempted home invasion. The 93 year old home owner was injured but managed to fight back.

EL DORADO, Ark. — An elderly man beaten unconscious by an assailant wielding a soda can later awoke and shot the man during an attempted robbery, police said.

Willie Lee Hill, 93, told police he saw the robber while in his bedroom Wednesday night. Hill confronted Douglas B. Williams Jr., 24, of El Dorado, who struck the elderly man at least 50 times, knocking him out, police said.

Hill, covered in blood from the attack, regained consciousness and pulled a .38-caliber handgun on Williams. Williams saw the gun and charged Hill, who fired one round, police said. The bullet struck Williams in the throat.

According to this published report, the criminal had what I think is an unusual response:

When police arrived, officers said Williams told them, "I can't feel my legs and I got what I deserved."

    Can't be true.
Old man used a 38 Not enough gun need 40 or bigger and a hicap pistol.
Bet he hasn't been to a range in years. So can't shoot very well since no practice.
I bet he never atteded XWZ gunfighter school either This shows because he used a 38 not a larger caliber.

Hats off to the old man. His shooting is better than 99% of reported Police shootings where they fire 50 to 80 rounds at 1 guy and most miss.

People can defend then selves with a hand gun of any caliber. Been doing it for a very long time. If they have the mindset I won't be a victim Black and tacital not needed nor 1000's spent on fancy schools.

If only all shots could be that well placed....Let all those POS bad guys who think its OK to beat the crap out of a 93 year old man think about what they did wrong while not being able to walk...Death is too easy.

    Thumbs up to Hill.

Well, this one definitely joins the top ten stories for listing on Armed Citizen.

One shot with a GoesBang6 Shootin' Iron.

Gun has probably been sitting loaded for months if not years.

Score one for the wheelgun crowd.

    Score one for self defence.

Score one for a heckuva tough SOB.

    Good on ya, Dad.

    Amen to that.
