Just started having an issue with my case feeder and I can't put it on any one thing. I loaded about 300 rounds today and had 11 stoppages with the feeder some of which I caught on video. Here are the vids below so you can have a look if you don't mind. Let me know if you have any ideas please. It usually consisted of two things. One, cases binding against the gate and two, cases getting under the plate and disengaging the plate from the drive motor.
Thanks, SCD

I'm trying to find the video. But I added a wire ramp that sits behind the 9mm cases as they come up and it pushes all those "rider" 9mm back to the bottom.

Edit..
This is not the exact one but the idea is similar.

Just when through this when changing over from loading .38Spl to 9mm...forgot to change the shell plate over from large to small. I had to ask, because it took me a good half hour to figure it out.

The instructions say to load 200 cases in the case feeder at a time, I've found that a few less actually make the feeder run more smoothly. I just add more cases when I replenish the primers/bullets

I contacted Hornady on this. They said their is a fix for this so I sent my hopper and plate back to them. I'll post pics here when I get it back for all to see.

Got the case feeder back from Hornady. They installed two screw in pins that seem to have fixed the problem. I loaded 150 rounds this morning without a problem. Hornady calls the pins "Wipers". I hope this helps someone.

Also I should mention that my case loader is less than a year old so they did this under warranty.

what do they look like underneath and about what angle are they. Very interesting. I wonder if they will make changes to any future case feeders.

These pins look to have 1/4-20 threads on the bottom but are smaller than that on the top inside the hopper. They appear to have drilled and tapped the hopper. Hornady offered to send me the pins but said they had a jig to install them and paid for the shipping there and back. The angle of the pins are exactly vertical when the hopper is in it's installed location. I hope this helps. I will post close up pics if anyone wants/needs them.

Is this an across the board for all calibers and plates mod?

This is the first I've ever seen a Hornady factory Mod. Stuff like this is usually posted by people doing it on their own.

Interesting.... Wonder if it impact the other calibers???

Thanks for posting, not what I was expecting. The hopper is not all that thick. I was expecting something similar to AR-Bossman.

I'm not sure. I'm only loading 9mm right now. Agreed, usually this is DIY stuff.

I'm not sure if it would impact other calibers or not. Concerning the hopper, I do know the later hoppers are thicker than the earlier ones,

There are 2 hoppers makes. You have the composite one like above, which is the thick one. Then there is a much thinner shiny black one that looks and feels like the biggest POS Hornady could possibly have put together. You see those 5 gallon bucket home made units people make on youtube... well it's like Hornady bought them all, painted em black and put them in their kits.
