Has anyone looked into the possibility of buying the parts for the Hornady case feeder, but not the electronic case tumbler? Just the tube and the part that drops the case from the tube and pushes it into the shell plate...kind of like the case feeder on a Lee progressive.

Not the hornady but I did fab one for a SD, click the first photo for a video.

Feeders are pretty useless without a collator but they are simple in design.

I'd say the bucket is less than half of the case feeder when it comes to overall operation. The bucket just feeds cases into the tube, but there is another complex mechanism that picks up cases from the tube one at a time and aligns them with a shuttle that pushes them into the shell plate.

It's a lot of specific parts you need to make the whole thing work, I'm not sure you could source them separate from buying the entire setup.

The hard part is the bits on the press that shuttle the cartridge into the shell plate. If you cna figure that part out, jsut top it with a lee case feeder/collater thing. Yeah, filling it is manual, it's still FAST compared to doing it by hand, and one could argue over the long haul may still outpace the case feeder (it's not that fast, especially if the hopper isin't filled to the optimum level).
