Hi all,

After perusing this forum and trying several different solutions to my primer plunger not coming up through the sub plate properly, disassembling the primer plunger assembly several times, and generally getting more than a little PO'd at my Hornady press, which I had purchased as an upgrade to the Lee equipment I had loaded a few thousand rounds on without bother, I finally discovered the problem. Powder and dirt had built up in the primer shuttle groove, keeping the primer shuttle from moving all the way forward. This resulted in the primer plunger being misaligned enough to not make it all the way through the sub plate, resulting in a high primer condition. Eventually the primer plunger couldn't even get past the shuttle itself and the system wouldn't prime at all. Backing off the shuttle on the upstroke, cleaning out the front curved mating surface of the shuttle, and making sure the shuttle was moving all the way forward after that cured the problem. I hope this helps some of you with this issue.

That is what I did many years ago on mine, round off the square edge on the front of the sled. That and keep a can of caned air to keep it clean. I would also recommend braking the sharp edge on the primer hole (sled). This will allow for a smoother operation of sled as it moves with a full stack of primers. Use Graphite for lube on the sled too.

Glad you got it working properly. I've never had any problems with mine and I'm around 75,00 plus rounds loaded.
