Well SOME Brits get it. Great movie, a little bit of undertone suggesting big gov't and social engineering is bad, and the most creative, corny shootout in a long time, with the greatest variety of weapons.

    Good stuff.

Shaun of the Dead is one of my favorites.

I'm looking forward to this one.

Pretty cool flick. SWMBO and I are big fans of Shaun of the Dead, which is the first movie we saw together, so naturally we had to see this one as soon as it came out.

The gun handling is horrible, but that's to be expected -- they're intentionally making fun of as many action movies as possible.

Hot Fuzz was a very disappointing and boring movie. It was about an hour and a half too long. It was aso pretty unnerving to see all the weapons get confiscated because they were not registered. I want my seven dollars back.

WTH did you think was going to happen? This was set in England, not the USA. Even in the USA I think they are going to confiscate grenades and bombs.

This was a good movie for people who like British Humour. If you don't understand what I mean by British Humour you are in danger of not liking it because it does not appeal to all Americans.

Yeah damien, I guess the government removing weapons from your home isn't that bad, even if it is in a civilized western country.:scrutiny:

That movie sucked! The previews show the last 15-20 minutes of the movie with all the guns and stuff. Not the worst movie I've ever seen..."Bills gun shop"... but a close second.

    Pretty funny, but too long.

I enjoyed it. Much like how Shaun of the Dead parodied zombie movies, Hot Fuzz parodied cop/action movies, all while paying homage to some of the good ones.

I love the fact that the farmer had a live sea mine in his barn.

I thought it was totally hilarious. The movie has a type of humor though that either you get or you don't, so I'm not surprised to see a split here.

I thought that was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. When it was over, I looked at my watch and could not believe how long it had been.

The gun handling was funny, and was supposed to be that way. One of the best, funniest shootouts I've ever seen in any movie. I never thought I'd laugh that hard to see a young man deliver a flying kick to an elderly woman's face! The entire movie was funny, and the last action-packed part of the movie was not the only part worth watching.

It's the universal human frustration of constantly dealing with stupid people, and the suspicion in the back of your mind that maybe they're really not that stupid, they're playing stupid to hide some great conspiracy... Or maybe that frustration isn't that universal, and I'm just in the top 0.05% of intelligence...

    Funny movie.

But the gal I went with and I both thought it was about 1 hr too long.

I hate movies where the best parts are the few previews they show.

    I would give it a 3 out of 5.

And I would maybe rent it, but definitely not pay to see it in theater.

    Gotcha

I went and saw the late showing after I got off work opening night. I was pretty excited since I loved Shaun of the Dead. All through the opening credits I kept wanting to do the "budda budda budda dawn of the dead" thing (if you haven't seen shaun you won't get it).

I loved Timothy Dalton as a the creepy store owner! Great movie!

Gave it a B. Over the top gun play -- that was planned to be over the top. Not near enough revolver work tho -- I guess the kids all wanna see plastic fantastics. Funny, well-filmed and with some nice, rather pro-gun aspects, I thought.

It's a solid 2 of 5. Don't pay full price. Don't buy it. Rent it when your favorites aren't available.

Hehe I've seen this twice at the cinema with my better half. We're both big Shaun of the Dead fans too. Great film. But then not evryone 'gets' that sort of humour. (Liked the choice of SLR/FAL :D)
