I am active duty military spending a year away from home. I bought a SIRT with the intention to train while away and come back to my new G34 ready to take on IDPA/IPSC/Whatever. That was the plan, at least.

My wife shipped it to me in a box via USPS, labeled "Laser trainer", and the package came back with a "GUN" remark from the "commercial air shipper", nothing else. I don't know whether to try again via the mail or attempt some other method. I can get regular mail no problem, but no physical address for FedEx/DHL or any other carrier. Any ideas?

It sounds like they X-rayed it and saw the outline of what they assume is a "gun".

I'd try to contact the shipper that made the comment and explain that it's not a firearm.

Also, if you're outside the US, there may be import restrictions on lasers

You might want to contact the SIRT manufacturer and ask them about shipping overseas. They will know the legalities. They might even be able to ship one from their factory.
