I went out and got a LE only marked DPMS M4 with 16 inch barrel and a Mossberg 590A1.
I have to wait till tomorrow since the local ATF is claiming the ban isn't up till tomorrow. Better safe than sorry. I got there at 5:00 and got the last M4. They had sold at least 150. :D

Took my barrel to a local machine shop to be threaded. Ordered lots of eeeevil, mean and nasty things for the AR last night as well.

Didn't get anything evil. But I did get a Mosin Nagant M38. Does thinking evil thoughs while fondling the mosin count?

True evil just isn't in the budget right now. :( Now if that darn kid will learn to use the toilet and get outta diapers, I may have a little bit more each month that can go towards evil.

I live in California, but I did go to the range and fire off a few hundred rounds in support of everybody who has something to celebrate, and to remind myself that I will not live here forever. BTW it was a good range day, and I had a good time even though I was shooting 10 shots per (restricted)mag.

$850 for the M4, $400 on the Mossberg. Both brand new.

Ordered an STG58 flash hider for my FAL. Had a *** moment while talking to the DSA smith. He claimed that he heard guns built during the ban cannot be changed to evil configuration. I guess some birds won't leave the cage even when the door has been removed.

Well I celebrated the ban in a purely symbolic gesture for all of the free citizens outside of the iron curtain. I went and put 150 rounds of .45 to a target, completely removing 60% of the target in a nice big circle. Then I talked to a couple of old timers shooting flintlock muzzle loaders. Wow, that is cool!

schizrade - what range did you go to? Not that many ranges near SF. I hear Chabot's supposed to be excellent, but I've not managed to make my way out there yet.

Anyways, I plan to go to the gun store and purchase a long arm in celebration.

Well, not me. I will be leaving for college soon, too soon for me to take possession of the long arm after the 10 day waiting period. But my father can purchase it for me and hold onto it until I get back and can fill out whatever forms I might need to fill out (right?)

Put a collapseable stock on my Bushmaster shorty, put a foregrip on my AR10, and bought a new Armalite flattop .223 (still "post-ban").

Started my post AWB shopping list.

    Got 5 SIG P229 .40 12 round LEO magazines for $18.99 each
    Got 3 SIG P226 9mm 15 round LEO magazines for $18.99 each

Sent the NRA a little bit of money.

Next are the Walther P99 9mm magazines and a Bushmaster collapseable stock lower.

I have enough firearms I just need accessories. :D

I was all set to buy some mags for my BHP and CZ-75, but then I realized I bought enough when they were on sale a couple of years ago.

I don't need a bayonet on an AR, so I guess I'm good to go.

I bought a full auto 9mm highpower assault uzi and a 50 cal full auto plane taker downer with a pistol grip at the first cartrunk sale i saw, then i went to the local wal mart and bought a remington rocket propelled grenade launcher with a folding stock and flash supressor and black hardware.Gonna need em for all the carnage in the next week or two,oh and some hip waders! No seriously, pretty much nothing for i live in communist occupied MD and it really didnt make a dent for us but im soon moving to SC,a more gun friendly state.I was very happy though but im always thinkin, what next and we all should be worried about the next bout with the gun grabbers. But for now GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My only concession to all the BS was to purchase a brand new LE/Gvt ONLY marked Colt M-16 20 round magazine (to go with it's dozens of unmarked 30 round cousins:D).

The A1 has a metal trigger guard and safety, and the barrel is a heavier profile. I love my A1, it makes the trap shooters nervous.
