I've searched THR, TFL and the whole rest of the web. The best I can come up with is an exploded diagram that still doesn't tell me how to do it.

The rifle is a Marlin 15YN that's new, but looks like it's traveled the gun show circuit. I can see the factory goop that Marlin put in the bolt at the back near the "cocked" indicator. It's all over the firing pin spring and the color disturbs me. The color is very much like the color of rust, even though there's still plenty of the lube in there.

The thing is, I want to take the bolt apart and clean it up but the instructions don't cover bolt disassembly.

Can anyone help??? Thanks!

Never having taken one apart I would say that part #5 and #27 would be the parts to remove to get the bolt apart. Just remember that the parts are under tension from the striker and firing pin springs inside the bolt.
