I just bought a SAR-1 and it had no manual. How do you take it apart to clean it?

    Thanks.

There are AKM manuals you can buy.

But off of the top of my head:

See the button sticking out of the back of the receiver, above the stock? Push that in, and you can remove the receiver cover. Now, you'll see the recoil spring; push it a little forward from it's notch int he rear of the receiver, and it can be removed as well. Now, the carrier group and gas piston assembly can come right out.

Can't recall further than that, but that might be good enough for cleaning. Someone'll be along with pictures, I'm sure.

Thanks. To be honest I don't even remember if I'm registered there. :) I just dig around their site occasionally on the theory that one day I might buy an AK.
