Hi, I just started reloading again after many years. I would like to know what is the correct amount to raise charges after the initial starting load. I'm shooting .45 acp with powerpistol and a starting load of 6.5 grains pushing a sierra 225 grain hollow point. The max load is 7.3 grains. Do I go up in .2 grain increments?

Given a starting load of 6.5 gr and a max load of 7.3, increments of .2 gr would work very nicely. I would load 10 each at 6.5, 6.7, 6.9, 7.1, and 7.3. Shoot them and make good notes on results of each. Then come back and retest one or two loads if necessary. Otherwise, pick the one you like best and go for it.

    Good shooting and be safe.
