I'm changing jobs.

No big deal . . . except it means I'm moving.

No big deal . . . except it means leaving Nevada . . .

. . . and relocating to Northern Idaho.

:)

And the timing was just right to trip over an LFI training class being run by Massad Ayoob (LFI) and Bob Smith (chair of the local club and LFI instructor).

Massad (left) & Bob (right) confer after some rounds of live fire.

But wait, there's more!

This is Idaho, right?

There's game in Idaho, right?
So, you would expect to see deer, yes?

Or maybe the occasional moose . . . ?

Heck, maybe even some wild turkeys.

There is some gorgeous country here, like this lake (Fernan Lake), right down the road from the Fernan Rod & Gun Club:

And where will I be living?

Here's my new neighborhood:

So . . .

. . . maybe change isn't all bad after all.

Y'all are welcome to come visit any time.

Very Nice

I love Idaho, Montana and Utah. Curently in Utah. Glacier, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole and Tetons are my vacation spots. Six and half hours towing a travel trailer and I'm ready to play in nature. Took 3 trips to Yellowstone, Tetons and Jackson Hole one summer. Wife just calls late Friday at work then we are gone in no time. Love the West. Enjoy that wonderful new home.

You are blessed my friend.

A Møøse once bit my sister...

No realli! She was Karving her initials øn the møøse with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush given her by Svenge - her brother-in-law -an Oslo dentist and star of many Norwegian møvies: "The Høt Hands of an Oslo Dentist", "Fillings of Passion", "The Huge Mølars of Horst Nordfink"...[/massive elaborate Monty Python reference]

That's how you should have captioned your pics. :neener:

Not quite so pretty around my place, but we have the deer and turkeys all the time (no moose).

I've killed a couple deer on this hillside, just to keep it gun related. ;)

LET'S NOT AND SAY WE DID.

Sorry, I am tired of having out of staters moving into Idaho and then bitching about shooting. I have had the cops called because of the range at my folks house, by a liberal from Washington. (The cop thought it was a really nice range and asked to use it) I am really tired of new people hunting on the ground I grew up hunting on. What I will do is grant you a week pass.

I am not saying you will complain, but lots of people move to Idaho who shoot but are in search of piece and quiet and tranquility, and when the neighbor opens up with his .470 Nitro or .458 Win, they get mad at the noise.

Just my rant for the day.

That is all.......

sierrabravo45, Your rant reminded me of a nasty letter somebody wrote to the local paper in my county in Georgia. Seems they didn't like their relatives going outside and shooting their "elephant guns", so they opined in the paper that we should have a law here against shooting. The griped about their relatives shooting waking them up from their mid-day nap and said those people should go for a nice long walk or read a good book. My letter was the only response printed; I'm not sure if anyone else did or maybe mine was the only one printable. I didn't see any more pro gun control letters after that. My point is we have similar problems here in Union County, Georgia, CSA, but instead of Washington State liberals, we get Yankee liberals who moved in from Flori-duh.

Sorry, ya'll, but I get on this subject and this is about how I wind up feeling about it.

Uh, so how many people from this board do you think would complain about shooting.

Maybe that you were shooting without inviting them...

Well, invite us all up for BBQ dinner and range day. Maybe we'll annoy those neighbors enough to send 'em back to Washington.

On behalf on my fellow Evergreen Staters -- our liberals are staying here, unfortunately. It's mostly those of us who are tired of King/Pierce County liberals running the state who are bailing (or contemplating bailing) and moving to Idaho. I spend a lot of my vacation time in Idaho, and as Kris noted, would never complain about gunshots unless I wasn't invited to shoot with you ...

Arfin, beautiful area. Enjoy!

Hey, we got some nice liberals here in PA that you can have. Don't worry about taking our last one, we got plenty. I'll even cover the shipping to get them there. Will UPS Ground be OK? That shoule be OK with UPS since they won't have any firearms with them.

I'm from California, and Idaho is on my short list of places to move. I hereby promise that I will not call the cops when I hear gunfire, unless, of course, it's hitting my house.
Arfin, your neighborhood is amazing.

Hey...hey...hey...Stop with the generalizing! Seattle, like every major city in the USA, does harbor liberals, however, the rest of the state (read: the other half of the population) is conservative. Best thing about Idaho is that it doesn't have a major city to attract liberals. Visit Washington State and I doubt Idaho will even remain on your radar screen.
