How many AR-15's are there at a gun show?

"In my opinion, there is no AR15 made worth more than $1200. Period."

Even with the threat of them being banned AGAIN and this time for good!? My guess is you already have one.

^I live in Texas. I know my state is hardcore against what the federal government is trying to do so much so they are trying to pass laws saying its a felony for them to enforce these new gun laws in our state if they go through. That would be wild to see federal agents put in prison for doing their illegal jobs which are against the constitution.

I thought the federal government is trying to limit magazines to 10 rounds.

if you are seriously worried pick up an ar lower. theyre way more than they were but way cheaper than a full ar right now... and you will take less of a hit if and when this doesnt pass.

i had an AR get stolen over xmas and now im trying to get a decently priced lower... to do a full build. even at these prices if i spend less than 200 on a receiver it will still be cheaper for me to build my dream AR than to buy one and deck it out the way i want it...

If the OP doesn't have the current asking price then waiting is all that can be done. That's a good thing as prices will stabilize one way or the other. I doubt ARs will be banned, magazines perhaps but there are private sales and auctions for items like that.

When the OP scrapes 2 grand together he'll either have enough money to buy an AR or enough to buy a really nice one with money to spare. Win win.

Nope, dont have them anymore. Sold them all at insane prices recently. AR's do nothing that any other semi auto .223/5.56 cant do. Less accurate than a cheap bolt gun (in standard m4gery spec) and generally a bad choice for home defense (look up the reasons). Whats left? Gravel pit/recreation? Ok, that I can understand, but then AK's do gravel pit style shooting better.... I have had 5 AR's of differing quality and even the best just serve no logical purpose. Fun to look at? Nope, one of the ugliest rifles ever devised. I'm not saying they should be banned or anything like that at all. Just, whats the point? AR's for sub $1000, ok. Olympics and DPMS sporticals for $1500, no thanks.

Umad, right now, gun control is about 3rd in line to be considered in Congress. The current fiscal problems, and immigration are to be discussed before firearms.

By the time they get around to actually considering doing something with that, I don't expect much at all to happen.

They will still have quite a decent selection of AR's at your next show, just expect to pay at least $1200+ for your bare bones M4. For the Colt6920 you are probably around $2000-2500 easy.

Good luck and I suggest getting there very early if you brave the crowds. My other suggestion is to go with a different model of AR that maybe at a more reasonable price.

How many at the show? I have no idea. We just had a show come through and I wouldn't have gone within five miles of the place. With all the happenings I already knew it would be standing room only with people pushing to get first available at double the price. If it's worth it to you than to each there own. I've had an AR on my list for quite some time but others on that list took higher priority. I look at it like this, if my desire for one was really that great I would have already bought it, I'll either wait and buy one at regular retail, or in what I see as an unlikely event for the next 2 years, they get banned, then I never really had that big of a desire in the first place. The fact that I may never be able to own one,to me, isn't enough to raise the value of what I'll pay. There is just to many other things on the list that I could get three of for the price of one AR at the current value.

^Sadly I just realized lately what AR-15's are. Always loved the M16 and once looked it up and the price was $16,000 so I never looked into it again. I never knew an AR-15 is an M4 which is an M16 basically with a 4" shorter barrel. I guess every time I saw AR's in the past they where the ugly ones that didnt even look like the M4-M16. If I had known I would have gotten one when I was 18. I only have one gun and its a WWII Colt 45.

AR-15s are not just M4 clones. There are ARs that are M16 clones as well. AR-15 is just a designation for the semi-automatic derivative of the M16/M4 family of rifles.

We have a gun show comming up the first weekend in Feb here in Florida's Capital City (Tallahassee, not Orlando as some think). Went to the last on in early December. Money was flying all all over the place. Lot of people and they were all buying. Quite unlike earlier shows. My purpose in going to the Feb show is to see if there are any "black guns", ammo and reloading components and if so what the prices have done in a two month period. Glad I stocked up way earlier and am not locked into this frenzy.
