    If you can fit the bullet inside the magazine well you can probably find an upper for it.

    The AR-10 (.308 winchester) is a little less versatile but there are plenty of people that do custom work. So I guess the same rule applies.

    I have also seen AR's in the benchrest calibers like the 7mm BR.

    .338 Federal won't fit.

    However I have one in .30 HRT and you can get them chambered for the WSSM calibers.
