    Ex-Navy Boatswain's Mate Second Class. Tin can sailor 1985-89 in the Pineapple Fleet. I was in the Persian Gulf twice long before being in the Gulf was cool.:scrutiny: Besides, I couldn't think of a better handle than my old militree nickname, tho' I'd share it with any old salt who'd ever earned it if i could.:D

    Captain, but a very long way in Reserve. I ran an Army Cadet Corps. My firearms, command and organizational skills are a whole bunch better than any CF Militia or Regs Officer.

    U.S. Navy stationed aboard the U.S.S. Midway 1962 -1965. Made two "West Pac" cruises. Home port was Alameda Naval Air Station. I was an "airdale" in V-1 division.

    Translated, I was a Helicopter Airborne AntiSubmarine Warfare Operator,
    (and combat rescue swimmer), in Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 8,
    attached to Carrier Air Group 11, on board the USS Kitty Hawk. squadron was stationed at Naval Air Station Imperial Beach, California, and the carrier was over at North Island NAS on Coronado Island...

    I let Uncle Sam pay for my college tuition 75-79, then I went to BUD/S (frog man school in Coronado Cali on the Silver Strand). From there I went to the east coast teams, ST1 80-81, then UDT21 until it became ST4 in 83, when I left active duty. Reserve specwar unit the rest of the 80s.

    U.S. Navy 1967-1973, Naval Aviator, Flight Instructor, A-7 Driver.
    AOCS, Pensacola, Meridian, Beeville, Meridian (Instructor), Cecil Field (VA-72), USS J.F. Kennedy (Nov '71 to Oct '72 extended deployment). 300 Carrier Landings and 2000 flight hours. Miss it sometimes. Could use a couple of "day traps".

    - for those who aren't so enlightened, 13F is an Artillery Forward Observer, or FIre Support Team membER (FISTER for short)

    Did tours of both Kosovo and Afghanistan with the 101st's 3rd Brigade, the Rakkasans.

    fivepaknh - Looks like we were in 8th ID together. Which BN were you in? I did time in both 5/8 and 3/8 INF.
