USN, '93-'97.. Airedale.. AT3.. Aviation Electronics, AIMD-IM3, shop 690.. Primarily worked on F14 avionics, but also worked on F18, A6, EA6B, S3, & E2C.. Stationed at NAS Miramar.. (I got out right before it became MCAS Miramar)

I was SeaOpDet, so I was assigned to a carrier while they were deployed or training, but got to avoid all of the 'ship's company' paint chipping and polishing while in port.. (well, I avoided most of it) :D
Did 2 1/2 Westpacs; 1 1/2 on USS Kitty Hawk & 1 on USS Nimitz..

U.S. Army 19 Echo '81-84

Fivepaknh, I left The Rock in Jan ’83. HHQ 3/33 The Pickle Was the loader for battalion CO’s tank and co Armorer. Should have stayed in Germany and gone to the Armorer school. Instead went to Ft. Carson. Gunner, TC. Rather be in Graf than stateside.

TheeBadOne, I never did get duty in the M1. They were always one step behind me. We were the last M60 class at Knox. Lyin’ recruiters. (Oh, yeah, you’ll train in the most modern tank in the world.) Dogs! Was on M60A3’s in Germany and M’s were coming in to the Rock when I left. Got to mess around with them at Graf a couple of times. Great machine!

Growing up as an Army brat with a full bird JAG judge for a dad was a LOT different than being IN the Army!

Ever hang out at the New Florida club in Olongapo?
Or how about Marilyns in Subic City? :D

3 Years Regular Army 1970-73 Spent my entire enlistment after AIT(Small Arms Repair) in Germany, kinda boring duty for the most part.
18.5 years in the National Guard, '81-'99(Combat Engineer), hung up the BDUs for the last time in Dec '99. Sleeping on the ground gets "old" as you get older. Don't miss that part of it but had a lot of fun and interesting times otherwise.
