I have one standard "loaded" M1A currently on hand.

It has fired over three thousand rounds to date, and NOT ONE FACTORY LOAD. Also, about 2500 of the total were loaded with cast bullets.

    It is a superb rifle.

+1 for the ammo complaint. Has not got out much lately. 22" Standard that thinks it's a Match rifle:)

You missed all of the target guns. Yikes!

    1 SuperMatch
    1 NationalMatch

    Currently.

    I had previously owned:
    1 Loaded
    1 Normal
    1 Polytech
    1 I honestly can't remember.....

I only kept the match guns because for me, they were the most fun!

    22" NM rifle
    22" standard
18" Bush built to current Mil standards except, like the other two, it is built on one of those evil investment cast M1A receivers.

    M1A

    Currently have 3.
One NM, one loaded and one Scout.

The NM is around 30 years old, 5 digit SN and has never malfunctioned in any way.

Had a standard M1A for 2 years but just recently gave it to my son-in-law. I'm turning him into a real gun enthusiast.

I have a Springfield M1A Standard Loaded with carbon barrel and synthetic stock, Harris Bipod & Long range scope. I'll be getting another loaded with Stainless barrel and wood stock and keeping it with more a classic look. I'm also complementing it with an AR-15 model 4, fixed stock, monsterman grip and muzzle break so I can have the detachible magazine. Detachible 20 & 30 round pre ban magazines are more important to me than a pistol frip and folding stock.

Just got a standard last month. It has been the one gun that I have been wanting for some time now.

    Mine's full-length.

I'm just fine with my M14NM, complete with 22" Krieger mid-weight barrel, unitized gas system and DevCon bedding. Lopping 4-6" off the barrel to weaken the ballistics with the intent of making it more maneuverable sounds like a bad trade-off to me. ;)

SAI (fairly low serial #) standard, accurized w/Kreiger hvyweight barrel, etc., etc.
It is now comparable to a NM to SuperMatch (w/o rear lug) rifle.

    Extremely accurate.

Because of "The Rule of Two", I'm in the market for a Scout/Squad.
