In 2008 I loaded 4,229 rounds. Mostly pistol ammo, of course - 9mm and .45ACP with fair amounts of .44 Spl, .357 and .38 Super in the mix. Rifle calibers were .223, 7.62X54R and .358 Norma Mag.

Since I started loading in 1971 with a Lee Loader in .45ACP, I've graduated to a Lyman Spartan, an RCBS Jr, two Star Progressive loaders in .38/.357 and .45ACP and finally a Dillon. I've kept records of my loads and the total round count is now 185,980.

Not that I keep such a detailed record, and since I shoot a lot of cast bullets, the best idea I get is from the amount of primers used.

By that method, I would say I use around a 1k brick per month, with a few good months when I went through 2 or more.

So maybe ~15k, but who's counting. lol. ;)

I don't shoot pistol as much anymore so expect the .223 to be my largest number in 2009.

over 10k of 9mm alone.......maybe another 500 of 40S&W.....Thats it. I loaded no rifle ammo in 2008 at all....... Hell, I don't think I even fired one of my own rifles in 2008.

These pistol games (IDPA,USPSA) have got me by the nads !

All together loaded 5000 or more. Shot about 50% more than that. Got a load of lead to start casting this winter so I can shoot more next year.

    Ten, maybe Twelve... thousand.

Average year, 90% handgun cartridges, all loaded on a Dillon 550B, 15-18 different calibers. Seldom less than 10K a year. I live in Minnesoviet, where I load all winter long (and it is a LOOOONG winter :barf:) so I can shoot in better weather without taking time out to tinker with loading more ammo.:neener:

I shoot at least that in rimfire, too.

Funny, I just did a count on this the other day. Looks like I ran through 5K of large pistol primers, 1K of large pistol mag, 1K small pistol mag, 2K of small rifle, 3K of large rifle and 3K large mag rifle.
So that puts me at 15K on the nose. I'd say a pretty good year.

1260 since July on a single stage setup. A mix of 9mm, .380 ACP, 38 Special, 357 Mag and .30-06 Spg.

I really need to consider a progressive.

Well over 4,000, I really can't count the exact number. (both rifle and handgun rounds)

Hey, I sure like that "primer count" method. Using that method, looks like 1800, all but 100 of which were 45 acp (the remainder being 45LC).

Of course if I set my mind to it, I could probably double my year's production before midnight tonight :)

Nah, I'm on vacation--think I'll enjoy the Bowl games. And a cold one.

Happy New Year to one and all.

10,000 or so. .45, .40. lots of 9mm, some .223, some 12ga. I've been shooting 1500 rounds per month lately, and I'm looking at 2500 per month for the next year.

Just tallied up the empty primer boxes and it looks like 13k. Mix of 38, 357, 9mm, 223, and 308. Just started loading 45, so add another 1k I'll be doing today. :) Heck, at 45.00/K* for loading pistol ammo, I'll be shooting a lot more next year.

*Free lead and brass. All I pay for is powder and primers. :neener:

Somewhere around 10,000 judging by my primers. But I didn't load hardly a thing after June, life got in the way.

At the moment it'd be a solid day just to get set back up to load again. Gun room is a mess.:scrutiny::banghead:

    orionengnr,
I'm sure that would work for many reloaders but since I have A LOT of primers and use 5 different primers it's hard to keep count unless I wrote everything down. Since I had no reason to keep a count I didn't keep tract of my primers... As a matter of fact, thinking back I must have shot a lot more than 4,000 rounds last year. Maybe that number should be doubled.

    I shot just over 12,300 reloads, 9mm for the most part, in competition/practice (IDPA/USPSA/3gun) in 2008 and loaded 4500 additional 223, 1200 45acp, 2000 38spl and 1000 40s&w just to have some “stock”.
