Texas...$140.00 to the state.
$100.00 for the class.
One 50 round box of .380 ammo at a time that was hard to get...$25.00.
Approximately $6.00 for certified return receipt mail to the Texas DPS.
Total =$271.00.

$117 for the application, $65 for the course (which I already knew 90% of the content, it was a formality).
So, it's safe to say the cost was $182....far too much to be told a right is a privelage.

I'm not counting money order and postage (return reciept), and other related fees.

In AZ, the 8hr class was 60.00 and the paperwork for the Sheriff's Dept. was 65.00. The permit is good for five years.

Colorado, 100 bucks for the class, but there are cheaper classes, as there is no requirement for shooting an actual gun. Guns and ammo were provided by instructor.
I think it was 150 bucks for all the sheriff's fees and CBI fees.
Good for 5 years, and in the interim, I've obtained the NRA basic pistol instructor cert, so I can now give the class.

So, 250 bucks total, not counting fuel to the range and back. Still, it was a marvelous day, got to shoot MANY different guns at paper and steel. I would have paid 250 bucks for the experience, without the CHP.

I try to make my classes fun like my instructor did. All my guns and plenty of various ammo available, and if we're not having fun, we're not doing it right.'

$10.00 for a four year permit.

I filled out the application at home. Handed it to an officer at my local police station with ten dollars cash. As I was walking out the door the officer stopped me. "I should probably look at your ID shouldn't I?" Almost didn't even have to show any ID! 13 days later I receive a call informing me my permit is in, right at the 14 days as is the law. Easiest thing in the world.

New Hampshire.

State of Nebraska
100.00 Nebraska class
25.00 Utah Portion of class
10.00 approx cost of three magazines of WWB 9mm for range portion of class
100.00 State license application fee good for five years. Renewal: 50.00
67.50 Utah non-resident permit Fee good for five years. Renewal 10.00

total 302.50

In Colorado I paid:

$100 to the Sheriff for the administrative costs
$52.50 to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to run a full background check
$70 for a cheap 4 hour class (no live fire required)

Good for 5 years (over 12¢ a day, ouch).
Same cost for me, except no class was required. Proof of pistol qualification on your DD214 saves you from having to pay for and attend a class. Works out to $2.54 a month for me, which is money well spent.

The renewal is much cheaper.

Liberty County GA, it cost me $39 and took 2 months for me to get it. Now in this county it is about $80 but only takes about 2 weeks from what i have heard from those that have gotten them recently.

MS
$100.00 for 5 year permit
$32.00 for fingerprinting
No classes
Look on Mississippi department of public safety

in MA

license to own and to carry are the same thing.....so.....

$100 for basic pistol class

$100 for application fee

wait 6 weeks .....and your good for 5 years.

Costs anywhere from $40-60 in Washington State.

Kinda depends on your situation and what county. Mine was $61, but at the time I was an absentee citizen in the Army.

Perch: A guy at our gun club does the class for $65.00, then I believe he said its another $100.00 to the county sheriff, which includes background check and permit photo and card. No firing range costs or having to shoot at all. Let me know if I'm possibly wrong here, Plz.

Regards,

Don't have mine yet, but up here in Idaho its $25 for the first time fee and then $15 every renewal which is about 4 years.

You have to show participation in a class or shooting competition. Thankfully, I took the California Hunter's Safety class which I don't remember how much it was, but it was a gift from my parents.

So for me, $25 unless it changes in a few months which I doubt. Ah, life is good sometimes.

For OK:

Mandatory 8 hour class: $50
Fee: ≈$100
50 Rounds of ammo: ≈$20

Not too bad, but still expensive for me.

PA....about 20 minutes and $25 for a 5 year permit.

Local Sheriff does the background check and out the door you go.

Took me longer to fill out the form nice and neat than my time at the courthouse. I love PA, feel bad for some of you guys for the rigamarole and costs you have.
