First off, welcome to The High Road!

The actual price is, of course, whatever you paid for it. So, did you get a good deal?

You mean the Auto Ordinance 1911?
I hope they stepped up the quality. I really liked the one I had but it wouldn't shoot straight. I replaced everything but the frame and slide. It ran beautifully but simply couldn't make a good group.
For the record, I could put shots from other guns in groups 1/2 the size of the Auto Ordinance pattern.

As long as you feel you got a good gun and were comfortable with the price then you got a good deal.

The used to make (and prob still do) a plain jane GI version in matte blue. Don't recall new price, but used I'd guess not over $400 if its in nice cond.

They had a pretty bad reputation for quality for several years, supposed to be better now.

I owned one of the WWII parkerized. Bought it new a few years ago for about $400. I hope yours is better than mine was. It was the biggest POS I ever owned.

My buddy had one for a week. Stovepiped every other round and the front sight fell off after 100 rounds.
