How much would you pay for....?

a Taurus PT-111 Pro stainless if you would have to send the frame in to Taurus to replace a broken magazine catch (that 3 local gunsmiths have been unable to remove). The button still functions, but the part that grabs and holds the magazine was shaved clean off. Other than that, it's in excellent shape. Finish and function outside of that is 100%.

Since it's under lifetime warranty, regardless whether you are the original owner or not, it would just be a question of you sending it in.

Just curious... I absolutely love this gun, but I have been considering selling it because I need the funds to go towards another gun that I have been eyeing.

Would $100 be unreasonable to ask for this gun? Am I selling myself short if I were to ask only $100? Why so cheap? To offset the inconvenience of the buying having to ship and wait.

Any comments would be appreciated!

I'd "bite the bullet" and send it in. I wouldn't take a beating trying to sell a broken gun.

I'd like to say that I'd take 'er off yer hands for a bill... but....

I've never dealt with taurus customer service before, but I've heard some real horror stories. But I own a 24/7 and a Model 85, and neither have needed to even go back to Taurus.

So what you're saying is that the magazine drops free of the pistol every time?

Since you are the owner of the broken firearm, why not send it to Taurus
yourself? Even though the fix is minor, I would not want the liability of
selling a defective firearm to someone else~!

I agree with Ala, send it in and keep it....
However, that was not your question. If I ran into you at my local store and saw that you were selling it for $100, I would buy it. Used ones sell for about $200-$250 so I would consider the hassle of getting repaired worth the price difference. You might try $150, but I would tell you "no thanks" if that was the offer to me.
