Six or seven for first shots. First gun that was "mine" was a 10/22 at 14 or 15.

My oldest two kids both started pulling triggers at 3.

i was about 7... it was a winchester 94-30-30... i was wearing my gramps ol captains bars on my collar... my dad didnt see the captains bars between my shoulder and the butt plate...

My Mom has a picture of me with one of my Dads air rifles when I was about 2 years old. Started shooting the big guns (.30-30, 12ga) when I was 8 years old.

Probably around 10, shot a neighbor's .22 a couple times. Got my first shotgun, a remington 870 youth model in 20ga when I was 12 or 13 I guess.

Actually not real sure. The first time I remember I was probably around 3 or so. Maybe younger? Possibly 2? I do have a clear picture of it in my mind...

I remember we (the family) were camping out at "the farm", 20 acres up in the mountains. I do remember that it was a M1 Carbine, and my dad had to hold both me and the gun up. I shot one clip, at the target on the big oak tree. All by fire light.

That must be why I love the sight of muzzle flash in the moon light.:evil

4 or 5....young but apparently not the youngest, some of you where babies when you first started shooting!

I don't remember exactly. I was an active cub scout and boy scout, so I'm sure I shot a little .22 or something around the age of 10 or 12. I didn't get my first firearm until I was 22 years old though, and it was a DPMS AR-15

It's not even a year later and I've got 8 firearms now, and they're all synthetic/black. Is that bad? :D

5 years old when my pops bought me my first 10/22. We still have that gun in the family, and it still works like it did back then.
Someday I hope to give it to my kids.

I was probably 12 years old, I started target shooting on a 50yd range at Camp Thunderbird for Boys in Bemidji Minnesota. I owned my first gun, a Norinco SKS when I was 18.

I shot dad's Marlin 39 at eight or so. Then I took .22 "rifle range" at camp at nine. I got my first .22 rifle of my own for my 12th birthday. Still got it too. My dad's says he's going to give my 11 year old son that old 39 of his as soon as I give the word. Ahh... God bless the USA...

I can't say how old I was. I remember that it was all I could do to reach the trigger. I wasn't able to hold the front of the rifle up my dad had to hold it up for me. We live in western ky and went to the striper pits to shot I do know it was a 22lr Thinking back I don’t remember my age for the first time I shot a shotgun (12ga) but I do remember that it knocked me down but I got right up and did it again with the same result. My son who is 2 has had his own rifle for over a year (22 cricket) and I am expecting my daughter anytime now I will buy her a cricket within a month of her birthday, and I will have a 50BMG before she starts dating

I went shooting for the first time with my friends when I was 20. We shot two .22 LR rifles and a 20 ga shotgun. A lot later than the rest of y'all, but I grew up in the SF Bay Area.

I was a little squirt, and believe that the lesson gave an appreciation between RESPONSIBILITY of 'adult' guns, and toys that shoot caps, and "don't even tough the real thing kid, you or someone else will likely get hurt, and is there any part of this that you don't understand-what the gun can and will do?" This lesson transferred to my own kids at a very young age.
