I have a pre-ban AR that's always had permanently attached flash supressors on 14.5" or 11.5" barrels. I just received my Wilson/RRA mid-length barrel back from weight loss camp at KKF. It's a full 16" barrel, so I get to play with barrel attachments. I ordered an A2 FS and "crush" washer from ADCO to put on it for now, until I decide whether to go Vortex or another Phantom again.

SO, my questions...

The crush washer is convex (or concave, I can't remember which it's called... it's shaped like a bowl with a hole :) ) So does the outward curve "(" point toward the FS or the barrel?

Do I put the barrel into a barrel vise (which I don't have) or can I use the Action Block (which I ordered)?

Can I put pressure on the front sight tower for leverage?

Anything else I need to know or watch out for?

Thanks for the input.

Get vice jaws for that Barrel. Don't put any pressure on the front sight, that's a no-no. As for the washer... you got me. I think you put the concave side toward the flash suppressor, but I forgot after I assembled my gun... Sorry.

flash suppressor

Definately use a barrel vise, the concave end goes toward the reciever. VORTEX,VORTEX,VORTEX, I can't say it enough they are really truly amazing little wonders.
