I recently bought a classic CAR 4 pos stock for my Colt 6920, and was wondering how exactly I get the old one to come off? I know how to get the silver tube thing and recoil spring out, but how does the stock slide off?

thanks

locate the part you squeeze with your hand to move the stock in and out. take that whole part in your hand and pull down away from the stock as you slide it off the receiver extension.

essentially, squeezing it only moves the pin out of the hole far enough to slide back and forth but you have to move it a wee bit further to remove it completely.

classic CAR 4 pos stock for my Colt 6920,
The Classic CAR stock was a two-position.

In, or Out were your only two options!

It seems if you put the four position stock on the six position buffer tube, you still have a six-position stock however!

A narrow rubber strap wrench will also work, but isn't the best solution.

If you just want a different style collapsible stock, many will just go on the buffer tube you have now. You need to know if it is mil-spec or commercial. Being a Colt, I think it is Mil-Spec.

I replaced the standard adjustable stock on my RRA 9MM AR with a Magpul MOE sock. It's great. One step up from there is the Magpul CTR stock.
