I bought a box of Winchester buckshot and noticed upon opening it that the crimp on one shell is coming up and white stuff (not sure if it's powder or what) is coming out of the top. I went to their website to get a phone number so I could give them a call. To my surprise I couldn't find an email address, a phone number, or anything. Anyone know of any way to contact them?

Is it to the point that the shot can fall out? The white stuff is just styrofoam and I remember that federal shells used to be really bad about filling your pockets with it. Didn't hurt the shell as far as I could tell though.

The white powder is plastic shot buffer.
Shoot it & Fugadaboutit!!

Long as the buckshot didn't fall out too it will work just fine.

Thanks guys. I'm not afraid to shoot it, but I don't really trust it for shooting at a deer either.

Buckshot shells didn't contain plastic buffer for about the first 100 years of it's use.

It might open the pattern slightly, but it will still kill a deer if you hit him in the right place.

PS: If you find any more with a hole in the crimp, put a drop of melted candle wax over it to keep the buffer in.
