How to stop Tokarev case jamming

I've got a Chinese Tokarev and S&B steel-cased 7.62 cartridges, and after several shots the pistol warms up and then ejection slows. Sometimes I have to tap the slide forward to lock and fire the next shot. Twice it has had cases stuck in the chamber so bad I had to disassemble and use a rod and hammer to get them out.

Any advise? I've got 5000 rounds and this is to be my main outdoor practice pistol.

Hey, nice see another canadian on here. I'm not sure I fully understand the problem. Is it that the cases stick once the barrel is hot? If so, I notice you said the rounds are s&b, are they steel case with dark green lacquer? I have only ever shot two kinds of ammunition in my tt-33's norinco "non-corrosive" in yellow packs, the cases are pinkish and czech military surplus packed in strippers that are dark green cased.

If they are steel case it could be that once the pistol heats up the lacquer is sticking in the chamber. When you knock out the cases are there flakes of lacquer missing? Did they stick in the chamber? I have never had a problem with either of my toks, maybe clean the heck out of the barrel, especially the chamber. You should if you remove the barrel be able to slip a live round into the chamber without any trouble.

cosmoline all out of it? alot of time cosmo will melt out of nooks and cranys and flow into parts and slow them down

Clean the chamber.

Also change out the recoil spring.

Yes they're lacquer cases, and yes some comes off. In fact when I shoot in short sleeves I look at my arms after a while and wonder why I have SOO many freckles, then I realized most of them were little bits of lacquer stuck to me.

I would guess it is a spring issue.

I have a Tok, and I love it, but they are not the strongest guns in the world. That is a powerful round to come out of such a small gun. I think it most likely a spring issue. It's my understanding that 5k was about the expected lifetime of the gun.

Remember, a pistol was an officers weapon, not designed for superhard use.

My chinese Tok TU-90 in 9mm used to do that.
3 shots and Jam. changing the barrel fixed my problem.
Sold the old barrel on e-bay so the change was a wash.

tight chamber maybe? Something could be smoothed out with JB paste on a rag-covered dowel?

Barrels are fairy cheap, it's worth a try. But try a super cleaning first.
