How To Strip An FTL .22 Auto Nine?

I had one, it was totally unreliable and it blew the extractor on the first shot. After replacement, I bought the EXACT ammo the factory said to use (To prevent the extractor problem) and on the second shot, the extractor broke again. When it came back, I sold it, and the moron who bought it put stingers in it, and blew the extractor again. Good riddance. I bought a Beretta 950 Jetfire to replace it as my BUG, and it was, and still is, totally reliable.

I bought the FTL the same day I bought my Colt Combat Commander, and I have to admit, the FTL was better made, and about as reliable!

OK this is my first post.:D

I have the two tone "Silver slide" auto nine. The same thing as B yond.

My extractor claw broke off and I am trying to get the old extractor out so I can get this thing working again.

Does any one here have knowledge of how to get the extractor apart?

Just so some guys know, many .22's and .25" of similier design all take down like this.
My 1947 CZ vz45 is taken down like this, but luckily its of high quality.

I have tried this but the barrel does not turn. Is it possibel I need to apply more force?

There are two different versions of this pistol, one made in Parma, Idaho and one made in Covena, California, that disassemble differently. Which one do you have?

I am desperately looking for an extractor for my Auto nine, but nobody has them. Are the Wilkinson sherry's parts interchangeable with the Auto-nine? I found this site that has sherry extractors: http://www.jackfirstgun.com/order.php I called them and they have 2 different types for the sherry...If they are interchangeable with the Auto-nine how do I know which one to get?

Parma Idaho and Covena, California marked pistols have different extractors. Post #8 of this thread pictures the Covena extractor. The Parma extractor is shorter, and flat, without the protusion seen at the rear of the Covena extractor in post #8.

I have the same Auto Nine as Tucson. I am having problems with the spring and the microscopic part that holds it into the mag release. Does anyone have a manual or can you take a photo of this area? I'm not sure I have all the pieces and the local gunsmith can't figure it out either. Thanks

I have a take down guide from an old gunsmithing book I think. I don't have a access to a scanner right now though. DA Wood, do you have any leads on a place for parts? I'm still looking for an extractor. Do you know whether or not the "wilkinson cherry" .22 pocket pistol's parts are interchangeable with the FTL?

Does anyone have pics of the other side of the sherry? So far it looks exactly like an auto nine.

Perhaps these pictures, for the Wilkinson Arms Sherry, will help.

Thank you very much. I will compare this to my dissassembly guide for the FTL and/or dissassemble my AUTO NINE to compare as soon as I can...and get back to you guys.

I just purchased an Auto Nine

I recently purchased one just like yours and I love it. I'm afraid I'll break it, though, haha. Tuscon: I'm curious about how you attached your Gemtech suppressor to an already short barrel on your Auto Nine. Did you ship it off to get threaded or did you have someone machine a new extended/threaded barrel for you? Pardon me, if these seem like dumb questions. I'd like to ask someone who has successfully done it, before I go wasting money and wrecking this fun little plinker.

Field Strip a .22 Auto Nine Pistol

Below are attachments that I scanned from the "Operation and Instruction Manual" for the .22 Auto Nine Pistol.

Please write me back and let me know if this was helpful.

I have a take down guide for the "FTL" version of the auto nine. I STILL NEED AN EXTRACTOR...cannot find one anywhere. Does anyone know if the Wilkinson sherry .22's parts are interchangeable with the auto nine?

AngryPossum, aside from being unable to manually extract a cartridge, have you tried firing the pistol for function? The small .22 and .25 Berettas, with tip-up barrels, were designed to function without an extractor. What I'm saying is, that perhaps you can use your Wilkinson Sherry until you've located an extractor.

Wilkinson Sherry Feed/Extraction problems

Any tips for fixing feed and extraction issues on the Sherry, or are these just total POS?

I got this gun from my Dad and it looks like it has never been fired. Cleaned it up and tried 3 types of ammo and had problems with all of them. Put about 20 rounds through it and only twice was I able to fire two rounds in succession with out clearing a jam. Either the empty casing get caught by the bolt coming forward or the new round catches on the feed ramp.

Good news and bad news North West Arms has turned off its phones I had called them on 10-25-10 for the hell of it to see if i could get a firing pin for my sherry 22 and someone actually answered to my surprise. I was told it would be 9.95 for the firing pin but I needed to know what model sherry 22 I had because there is a COVINA 22 and a PERMA 22 . The bad news is I got sick and dragged my feet ordering it and a week later it seems the phone number is no longer in service GREATTTTTT.

Now the good news there is a company that has the firing pin for 24+ 9 shipping and they only carry it for one model I was told and that if it was the wrong one I could send it back less the 9+ shipping. Not a great deal but still good to know there is a 35 dollar part for my crappy 100 dollar gun. I will post the name and number of the gun parts store for the rest of you I hope this helps some people and keep an eye out for a youtube video on how to strip the wilkinson arms sherry 22 I will be posting it soon ..

Can anyone get me a copy of the manuel of the Auto Nine. In need of re-assembly of the pistol, since the step son did me a "favor." Lots of photos of it being dissassembled and then reassembled, would work too.

Thanks
Charles
