Are you a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist?

No one knows what he did or didn't experience. But, having a couple of Purple Hearts myself, I can say I know what his victims experienced.

He pulled the trigger and he owns it. There’s no wiggling out of it. It’s his fault.

And if it were one of us average Joe’s instead of a wealthy actor, we’d have been arrested on the spot and rotting in jail right now, not going on vacation with the angry looking wife.

The scene did not call for him to fire the gun. And supposedly they were just working on the camera angle for him reaching down and drawing it.

Baldwin is an egomaniacal, self-righteous thug, and now a killer.

He deserves everything he gets and more. I hope that if he doesn't end up in prison, he at least is crushed into a fine powder in civil court.

No, I am not but I do have some small degree of familiarity with the literature.

    Are you?

I hope your right, but the Ted Kennedy mindset is real, and I have seen it.

I have as much as you -- and as much right to lecture others as if I were an expert.

What is your point? To whom are you addressing this? What is your objective? Your reason for this? Your expected result?

Maybe because Baldwin doesn't deserve any sympathy. He certainly did show any to Dick Cheney

No. He's scum. And he deserves to suffer for his ignorance.

OP should be ashamed of his weakness.

I have to agree with the OP but on the other hand the “those people on the other side (i.e. the ones that don’t agree with me) are really idiots/evil/stupid… take your pick” attitude is a pretty common component of this forum. If I could count the gloating posts when somebody on “the other side” made some kind of mistake... And how many people would even know or care who Alec Baldwin is if not for his SNL role that surely turned a lot of people against him.

maybe “lighten up” isn’t really a bad thing or maybe this whole topic has worn out it’s welcome.

Imagine filming your actor. Setting up for another take. The actor then has a temper tantrum like a toddler, turns his gun on you, and shoots you in the chest.

The last thing you see, is a wrinkled old fat man ranting about Donald Trump, before you die.

[Sure, lets give the guy a break. Lolz]

1: Honestly, I have been saddened to no end by the vicious tone of almost every post about this,,,
Most posts have the same vitriolic tone as those of the Liberal media towards us.
I mean the name of this forum is "The High Ground",,,
Do we really need to sink to their level?

2: I am not addressing this to anyone in particular,,,
No more than if I posted a "I hate 1911 pistols, prove me wrong" thread.

3: Just to maybe prompt a few people re-examine their thoughts.

4: Because I was saddened by many of the truly vicious posts.

    5: I don't expect any particular result,,,
I was merely stating a JMHO.

The high ground is only useful for better lobbing, of spears, rocks, and arrows, at your opponents below.

You should see my pike field.

I’m on the fence. If the set safety was as bad as it’s made out to be then everybody there should catch a negligent manslaughter charge, and every single person had the option of walking away from a dangerous set. That said, Baldwin had a bigger role than the average joe so he bears more responsibility.

In my years as a industrial safety professional I saw it go just like what I’m hearing from the set. Workers just do the minimum to not get fired, and since safety isn’t exciting or fun it gets lost quickly to the exciting things like racing pallet jacks or quick draw target shooting. That’s why I had a job though was to make sure those safety precautions were not lost. The chain of command bears responsibility legally. It’s the highest level where the unsafe behavior was reasonably known and tolerated. Baldwin certainly was in one of these positions. There may be others above him, there are definitely others below him. He should have hired a better site safety officer.

That moron killed a person because he was too self-entitled to check the gun in the first place, a gun which he pretended to understand the destructive capability of. He deserves the criticism and incessant hostility. If it were one of us pro-gunners that shot someone to death, the same way he did, he would be laughing it up and using it as a talking point for gun control.

As far as I am concerned, his decisions as a producer and his gross incompetence led to the death of another human being. Lock him up.
