I thought I would post this here instead or reloading since it is shotgun specific. Please move it if I was wrong.

How many reloadings can I expect out of 28 ga Rem. STS hulls? I know they are supposed to be the "best" at the present time, but I don't recall anybody saying how long they actually last.

When I first started loading shotgun, my mentor told me to think of hull life differently than case life. "They don't last as long as your .44 magnums" But I don't remember how long he said they would last.

I could have emailed sm or kudu to ask, but I thought this might be of general interest. ;)

STS are good hulls although I mainly reload Win AA, per previous post, you will get at least 5 reloads, probably more. My rule is to inspect the case at the perimeter of the crimp crease, once I see a small crack, I LOAD IT ONCE MORE.

Larry,

I routinely get 6-10 loads out of an STS, maybe a couple more, but I load them until a couple of the petals fall off or until the side may split. Sometimes have to hold the shot in with wax, but that would be the last loading. :D Occasionally you may get a bad shell that splits on the first or second loading, tough luck, but it happens.
