A change of scenery..

I just applied for Illinois deer tags for Pope and Hardin counties in downstate Illinois. I will consider mentoring anyone who has sucessfully completedthe DNR Hunter Safety Course as I did. Now is the time to make plans for November and apply for tags. E-mail me if you are interested in a wilderness area hunt under fair chase conditions in the Shawnee national forest.

I can't guarantee sucess but I can guarantee a beautiful setting.
I have guns but you will need an foid if a resident of Illinois.
E-mail me if interested [email protected]

Dept 10, 50, France.

Everything from Rabbit to Boar and Partridge to Water Fowl

I do not hunt but would be happy to tell you how to go about it, teach you the rules and put you in touch with those that do..

Eastern Georgia around the Savannah area and into SE South Carolina. Also have a lease in Wyoming that I spend two weeks a year on. Willing to help a newbie.

im in eastern nc (new bern) and im 17

i have done some bird hunting but i really want to get into deer this year and need some help

Another one in Southern Cal here. I can get great prices for hunts in Thajon Ranch for 21+ people. Pig hunts stare again in Feb 08. Let me know if you're interested. I was planning a pig hunt thins month in the Santa barbara area until it was closed due to fire danger.

Conroe, Texas

I am looking for someone in Texas that has some land for rabbit hunting. I am a well behaved 19 year old guy located about an hour north of Houston in Conroe. I am also interested in other hunting, but I only have a henry .22 and a mossberg 500. I also wouldn't mind just having a shooting partner.

Novice hunter in Eastern Missouri

I live in the St. Louis metro area and although I learned to shoot when I was young (now 37 y.o.) I've only taken up hunting in the past few years. Dad wasn't a hunter, so I'm learning on my own. I've been out for doves and have spent some time in the turkey and deer woods, but have yet to kill either. Most has been on public land, as I don't know anyone with property on which to hunt. Hunted on a friend's land once, but his gun handling and hunter ethics were a cause for concern.

As for safety, I am a former NRA & BSA certified Rifle and Shotgun instructor (former only because my cert. lapsed). Stickler for 4 rules and expect the same of anyone I shoot with.

I'd love to find someone who might have some land to share and some time to help show a new guy the ropes. In exchange I'd be glad to help out with some projects on your property, or otherwise work out some deal to even the favor.

Hey Glockman - I'm absolutely interested in boar hunting on the ranch - esp. if you can get a good rate. I'm a total rookie on anything but water fowl and upland game - but I'm looking forward to my first hunt.

That would be awesome if you could set up a group.

Tucson AZ

Right now I have a teen that and some of his friends, that I am trying to get on track!

I might be able to take someone. schedule permiting.

Anyone in/around Raleigh, NC?

I've been interested in getting started for a while now, I just don't know anyone that hunts. I've got a modified choke 28" Mossberg 500a and a Mosin 91/30, so until I know better, those are the guides for what sort of hunting I try.

Southern Colorado.

Smoke Rizen and myself will be hunting doves for the next few weekends, as long as the doves hold out. We have room for a newbie or two usually. Justin will be learning the ropes this Saturday (he's already a good shot, but he needs to learn the "dirty work" ;) ).

I've met with two, so far.

I've met with two members so far, Dogwielder and Akolleth, and taken them out in the woods far a bit. Dogwielder before season opened for scouting and showing the ropes, Akolleth before season and opening morning of squirrel season.

I'm still available in Washington State, I hooked up with Carnaby and here's how he did!!

He did -good- :) Is it just me, or did anyone else gut hungry looking at all that dressed venison? Now I'm stuck at work with nothing but junk from the vending machine in my near future!

And of course, as it should this is inspiring me to get my arse in the woods more than ever.

That is really cool! Its great to hear these kinds of stories.

Give me a bit of hope too away done here in So. Cal. :)

North-Central Colorado

25, Aurora Colorado

I just moved to Central Colorado, so am still very new at this area, but would love to take anyone with me as I explore the national forests around here for small-game, doves, grouse, cottontails/snowshoe hairs, or anything else! I'll have to wait a year for deer hunting though.

I'm in Northern Caleefornya.......I'd like to terminate a deer and eat it.:)
I figure it may be too late to get a tag this year, but I'd be willing to just tag along on a hunt. I have read up on field dressing a deer, but I'd really like to watch someone actually do it before I attempt it. I am hoping to hook up with someone who would not mind me at least tagging along for the education this season somewhere in and around Plumas County, CA.:)

Nobody in Northern California.

Here's a second mentoree for NorCal. I'll be looking to make up for a year's worth of missed hunting when I get back from Iraq. I'm mostly interested in, well, just about anything in Northern California that you can hunt with a rifle.

Looks like I make three.......Anyone interested in mentoring 3 norcals?:D
